Batch Process on Gimp

If you have a set of images that you need to perform manipulation on the quickes way is by using a batch processing application. Examples of where you may find this useful could be when you download images from your camera, or when you want to resize or rename images.

This plugin can:

  • Rotate
  • Blur
  • Modify colours
  • Resize
  • Crop
  • Sharpen
  • Rename / Change directory
  • Save in alternate formats

GIMP has this capability. I will be looking at David’s Batch Processor this example although there is also BIMP http://registry.gimp.org/node/26259 There are also some standalone applications that you may wish to use that may offer more functionality as simple search engine query will give you a list.

As a linux user I followed this tutorial for install. The download also installed a bunch of other stuff which I will look into later. http://www.maketecheasier.com/batch-process-files-in-gimp/2010/12/31

This is the main page for the plugin it also includes links for windows install as well. http://members.ozemail.com.au/~hodsond/dbp.html
