If you have a set of images that you need to perform manipulation on the quickes way is by using a batch processing application. Examples of where you may find this useful could be when you download images from your camera, or when you want to resize or rename images.

I will be looking at David’s Batch Processor this example although there is also BIMP http://registry.gimp.org/node/26259 There are also some standalone applications that you may wish to use that may offer more functionality as simple search engine query will give you a list.
